I lost power steering this weekend.
I have the hydraulic cap at the helm behind steering wheel.
Heading out the rudder was at 27 degree's when turning the wheel it did not show it was moving on the gage.
It is a 2006 38' Sundancer.
Thinking it might be low fluid but its a closed system so not sure.
Is there a way to identify the issue or should i try to fill and bleed system?
I don't want to fill with new fluid and bleed system if its another issue.
I did get the gage to start reading position, and steering is tough to turn.
Seems to be a bit easier turning to the port side but still tough.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Sorry no one responded, just saw this as also have steering issue. Yes definetly bleed system. Great help on you tube. Hopefully your steering is more accessable than mine is.

does the hyd system have pwr assist?
Before bleeding the system the problem should be diagnosed.
Does it have fluid?
If not find the leak?
It it has fluid and the system also has air there may be a shaft seal that is bad.
Have a person turn the wheel while the observing the hyd cylinder.
Also if the boat is in salt water have a diver check for obstructions and or barnacle growth.
