As some of you know I just hooked up my Boat Command a week or so ago. I received a warning Friday night that told me my battery was undercharged so I went to the docks Saturday and noticed the charger had stopped working. It smelled like my 24v batteries were cooking. I turned it off and then back on again and everything seemed to be working again. Last night I got home and when I checked the voltage I was at 27.86 volts and climbing. I immediately called a guy on the docks and had him shut the charger down. Today I went back to the docks and tested the charger. The thing smelled like it was ready to catch fire. It was charging at 37 volts, then 20, then 47. I removed the charger and plan on calling Pro Nautic in the morning.

Had I not had the boat command system installed, I am willing to bet that I would have been digging through ashes today or cleaning up a big mess from exploding batteries.

Steve I'm glad the system is working to your expectations and good catch!!! I've been reading up on the system and was wondering is a text message the only notification that you receive? Or is there a phone call option as well? What kind of warning did you get?
i did email the company on Thursday but forgot to ask that question.

You can do text or e-mail. I prefer the text messages because it shows up on my watch as well. I don't think that they have a telephone service. However, you can set an alarm on your I phone when you receive a text from Boat command. That way you will know that it is a warning or alert.

I was just about to start a new thread about Boat Command but decided to search first to avoid repetition and found this one. I too think Boat Command is fantastic, a great concept and implementation.

I bought mine last Thanksgiving during their Black Friday special, which was a great discount, and although it was killing me to wait so long, I wasn't able to actually install it until 2 weeks ago. Now I have full time monitoring of the batteries, bilge pumps and physical location. Adding the shore power feature is next on the list. I use both text and email notifications and they've been working great on my iPhone, iPad and laptop.

Right now I'm 4758 miles away from my boat visiting my father in Florida after a loss in the family while my wife is back there alone. So knowing the battery and bilge status is VERY important, especially since we're in a harbor that is basically open to the Pacific Ocean. And knowing if our pumps are running is literally a life saver in addition to being a boat saver.

I just want to add my thanks to BOE Marine for selling these and to say that in my opinion it is the best deal around for monitoring the safety condition and location of your boat.
