Does anyone really use their V-Berth area as a sitting area, or actually eat at the table? I'm just wondering why most every small cabin boat has one. In my little 240, it's completely uncomfortable to use it like that. Seems to me, a proper bed is a more useable feature. I just don't understand the feature.

When we had the 260 I don't think we ever ate in the v birth. The only time the table was up was winter storage so I could lean the cushions on it. We always ate in the cockpit.

Come to think of it we don't even use the table in the 340's cabin. Always stored, and we are eating in the cockpit or at the galley counter

Maybe to give the cabin a more open feel? I agree Mike, it is pretty useless. We never eat in cabin of our boat either.

We must be weird, we use ours all the time in the 240. It's used for a nav table, card table, coffee serving area, bar, sandwich board, prep counter, drying rack, buffet table, and in really lousy weather it has been used for dining. The only time the table down is when it's time to go to bed.

In are 230 WE the cabin is hardly ever used for anything but sleeping. In the rare occasion if the weather bad we also have ate in cabin.

We use ours in the 230 pretty regularly. There are always a few people sitting at the table if we have more than 4-5 people on board. Plus, sometimes I need to send someone to sit up there if I need help getting on plane when overloaded haha. Other than that, it goes down at bedtime and gets covered with a 4"memory foam topper that is stored under the front cushion when cruising. I sometimes think a comfortable bed would be better, but we have ours set up to be useful as a table and a pretty damn comfy bed when desired.

We have never used the cabin table. Still in brand new condition under the V berth.

We have only used ours once to eat at when the weather was terrible. Normally, we eat in the cockpit.

My V-Berth table is in my garage. Never have used it. Got tired of hauling it around, so I took it out. Don't miss it.

I was wondering if deleting the table and transforming it into a proper bed would hurt resale. I know, resale is already killed! haha

I'm not sure how to do it so that it looks factory. Just one more modification I'm looking at. I just can't leave well enough alone.

Just leave the table in the filler position and put a memory foam mattress cut to size over the whole area. That's what I did as I never use the table at all. Very comfortable and very little work to do.

Probably the best and easiest way to modify it. The big but is, I'm in and out of the storage under the seats all the time. There is very little storage in the 240da. I was thinking about hinges and hydraulic prop rods....

All we have is a bed, but in a 35 or smaller foot boat it isn't a proper bed anyway. They have to put *something* there I guess. I have never used the dinette in the cabin to eat, I always eat topside in the cockpit. We spend very little time below actually.

We always sleep in our mid-cabin so our V berth is pretty much wasted space but great storage underneath. Wish we had seating up there instead of a bed. We keep our bow cushion up there and the camper top. It is a nice place to watch TV from on rainy days. We use our dinette quite a bit to eat just for privacy at the slip and get out of the sun. We use the whole boat I guess.

I never used the v-berth dinette table, not once.

I also never used the v-berth as a dinette. Stayed as a bed. Both my past boats had stand alone dinettes.

Foam mattress cut to size and it stays a bed. I also had custom cushions made for the dinette and it's now a couch. We never eat down below so it was a waste. Now my wife and daughter can take a nap on the bed while I watch TV and nap on the couch.
