Why does the impeller on the Kohler 5w need to be replaced so often. Seems very tight. is the an off brand impeller that works better

Every 50 hours isn't so bad as the replacement is quick and cheap. It would be nice if it lasted longer. For whatever reason, there is no more durable solution.

Alot of people fail to lube the replacement impeller.You have to remember its gona be spinning dry in the housing untill it draws water through the system up to itself.dish soap works great. not only dose it lube the impeller. it also lets you know if the replacement is working or not. Look for the bubbles that it should be making.
