Hello again. I am dire need of a 1990 Searay sun dancer 270 wiring diagram. I called sea ray and they said they do not have one for that year. I have an electrical short somewhere. The control panel just inside the cabin has generator start switch, blower switch and CO monitor breaker. When the blower switch is activated you can hear it run for a bit then it kicks switch panel breaker off and generator start fuse blows. Stereo also quit working about the same time but cannot track down where red power wire goes and where it might be fused at. Switch panel also has breakers. Battery charger will not run unless converter breaker is on, not sure it that is normal or not.

Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim, I have your model Sea Ray, and am familiar with some of the wiring, but don't have the generator, and CO monitor. My blower switch is on the dash along with the lighting and other system switches. My blower got old and was drawing too many amps, and would trip the breaker on the dash panel, replaced blower and the problem went away. As far as the converter is concerned, the battery charger is wired into the converter circuit, so when you turn the breaker on the charger will keep the batt's charged while you are using 12V appliances as long as you are connected to shore or gen power. A far as a wiring diagram, you may try a year older or newer as those models are nearly identical.

Thank you so much for your response. I may need to ask you more things since yours is the same model. We just bought this boat and was aware of some of the wiring issues. That makes since on the converter breaker. Can the battery isolation switches be in the off position and still charge the batteries OK? On my blower issue, there is a blower switch on the main instrument panel and when it is turned on the blower works fine. It is when you use the blower switch on the circuit breaker panel just inside the cabin door on the left. When it is turned on you can hear the blower but it is not loud. It will run for about 3 to 5 seconds then pop the switch panel breaker in the engine compartment and blow the top generator fuse. Wish I could find a schematic for this year. Again, thank you very much for the info.

I believe the batteries still charge with the selector switch off, although it depends on how the charger is wired. I understand that if it is factory wired it will work with the selector on the off position. If it is after market you may need to investigate where the charger is wired in. The blower switch in the panel may have to do with operation of the blower when the generator is used. I would play around with hat if the generator works and see what happens. Good Luck!
