My kids bought the Bennett Auto Trim Tab Control for an early Father's Day gift. I am going to install starting this afternoon. Seems pretty straight forward. However, if any of you have installed it on your boat, where did you install the Control Unit? If you have a 260 like mine, even better.

I installed this on my 1987 268 and then took it out and installed it on a 32' Wellcraft.

The control unit was installed in the area under the steering wheel since it had 12 vt circuts to provide power and access to the trim tab switch wiring. I put the attitude sensor in the engine room near the transom on the Wellcraft and under the head's sink on the 268.

You'll love the way this unit works!

Thanks, but the newer units have the attitude sensor built in to the control unit. I don't see a place large enough or flat enough under the dash to mount it.

I just installed the same unit on my 07 240 DA, I built a small shelf out of starboard and attached the shelf to the area below the cutout for the steering and wiring harness pass through below the helm console.
I mounted the unit on top of the shelf, ensuring it was level and parallel to the centerline of the boat.
Love the unit it makes a huge difference on my 240 DA!

Great idea! Thanks for the reply.

Good luck and Happy Fathers Day!
Let us know how it goes. I'm really curious about adding aftermarket equipment to my 260 Sundancer.
