Looking to replace my interior headliner lights with LED's looking for some feedback on best place to buy bulbs and how easy the process is.

Marinebeam.com is my recommendation. I have just finished changing all of the lights on my boat to LED. They helped me on a few odd issues and are very good to deal with.

Thanks, I'll check the website out.

+1 on marinebeam.com. If you call they are very helpful and if you mention clubsearay.com you might get a 10% discount. Went I ordered the replacement G4 bulbs they had just changed from a 6 led to a 9 led version for the same price. Ask about that. You will also need the extra long pins.

Good luck,

Pete

I also used marinebeam.com when I upgraded to LED. Their site is very user friendly and has some interactive features to help ensure you get the right bulb for your fixtures. They have some nice multi colored lights for the interior that are simple plug and play. To change colors, you simply flip the existing on/of switch a couple times to cycle through the white, colored lights. I used the white/red for my cabin for ease on the eyes during night cruising and other fun activities.

Great info, thanks all. The plan is to get good quality and tap into the experience of fellow members. I'm kind of a safety nut so I don't mind spending a little extra for an upgrade in quality. The multi color sounds cool too.

Agreed, my boat was just over $600 to upgrade every bulb to led. Well worth it, better light, much better on the battery draw.

Plus 1 for marine beam. I also noticed that switching to LED helped with the AC

When switching to LED in the cabin, can you just replace the bulb or do you need to replace the entire light housing?

We just replaced the bulbs and boy are they so much better! The difference is amazing.

I replaced the bulbs in the cockpit (under the radar arch) with blue LED's in our 360. The output (intensity) was too bright . Try to see the bulbs at night if possible to determine how much lum they will put out.

If you are looking for some cool lights for the cockpit, take a look at LUMITECLIGHTING.com I replaced the arch and the courtesy lights with multi colored SHADOW lights. They are multi colored (mine are dimable white, red and blue) LED lights that wire right in to existing wire. They fit in the existing holes from the perko/attwood OEM lights and they work great. No need for new switches either. To cycle through the colors just flip the switch on and off. To activate the dimable light on the white color you just flip it on and then quickly off when the light reaches the level you want. They are not cheap either....about $90 each.

Just the bulb, no need to replace the fixture.

you must be sure to install the LED bulbs in the correct orientation in the fixture so that the current can flow through the bulb and illuminate it. If you install it backwards the bulb will not illuminate. You will not harm the bulb if you accidentally install the bulb backwards.
