! have a 185 BR and want to put my ipod on the dash, is there a mounting kit with a long enough wire? The stereo is in the port side dash and its a pain to keep reaching over. (we only use the ipod so the other controls are not important. Thanks

I have a similar setup in my 210. My patch cord is about 6' or so long, so it works ok when I'm anchored out listening, to the front of the boat, but barely reaches the back of the boat. I don't have it in the drivers area when I'm driving. I usually don't listen while underway. I don't have a mount, I usually lay the ipod on the edge of the seat near me, and either put it in random mode, and let it autoselect, or hit next.

What about getting a stereo with a wired remote that can withstand the elements? If your stereo can control the ipod, then a wired remote could control the ipod. And you could store your remote in the dash with the stereo, out of the elements. The marine wired remotes are built for exposure to the elements. What deck do you have? Can you add a wired remote to it? If your ipod is connected by an aux jack and not the ipod connector, then a wired remote will not work for your deck.

If clarion on your boat has C-Net connector you could easy add ipod interface and wired remote on dash and install ipd cradle under dash or ose one of those http://www.otterbox.com/ipod-cases/ to keep it dry.

One of my favorite ipod accessories

Take a look at this product by DLO :

My head unit is mounted in the cabin and I use the Music Dock system plugged directly into the head unit. While the docking station is plugged in the tiny remote is RF wireless and has range to 150 feet.

Because the remote is RF you dont have to worry about line of site and/or sun washing out of the typical Infrared remotes. It also controls the volume, tracks, play list and more. Take it in a water with a water proof sleeve and you now can control everything including volume on you Ipod while floating in the water. I like that.

The unit comes with a AC power plug that steps down to 4.5 volts DC. I purchased a 12 volt to 4.5 volt power converter and wiered to battery. BTW . . . it charges remote and Ipod while docked

used the c-net connector in my 220, no issues at all.

you just have to create new play lists or the device will start at song one.

currently just use the headphone jack to play music from the iphone.

Pandora on the lake is great!
