Well, it didn't go exactly according to plan, but got her home! The trip from Key Biscayne to my home port was 119 miles. I didn't want to do that distance for my first cruise so I had contacted a hauler to transport for me. I never gave him any payment or payment info (luckily) as it was supposed to be COD. He was scheduled to be at the marina to meet with my broker and load up at 1pm on Tuesday. I text him at 115pm and he said he was there talking to my broker. I text my broker at 130pm and was informed the hauler never showed. I frantically tried calling and texting him dozens of times after I found that out and, still to this moment have never heard from him. So, in a complete state of panic, left my office and raced to Key Biscayne. Once I got there and confirmed there was no transport, I made the decision to leave my car there and take the boat home on the water. I left Miami at 430pm and made it to my home port around 930pm. Traveled 118.8 of the 119 miles and as I idled up to my marina, got stopped by the Sheriff's Dept! They were concerned about a boat my size coming in solo and doubted my story of being alone, so boarded me and searched the boat. Ended up being super nice deputies and let me go pretty quickly. So, all and all it was a success. Boat ran very well and I've got a detailer coming tomorrow to do a full compound and wax of the hull and topside, as well as thorough cleaning of the cabin. Boat was kept super clean by the seller but just want a "clean" baseline for it. All that's left now is the de-naming and renaming ceremony! Here's a few pics of the departure from the port of Miami and trip up to Stuart. Enjoy!
