can anybody give me the correct location of jack stands on my 1988 300 weekender right now there are 2 on the stern corners and 1 on the bow. my concern is the weight of the motors and fuel tanks are unsupported. i have straight inboards that are about 4 ft foward of the stern, any help would be great:smt100:smt100

3 is "enough" for that boat. The engines are mounted on the stringers, so don't worry about the weight. Probably, the fuel tank is located over the keel - again, don't worry.

But, if it was me, I'd add another set of stands about underneath the windshield area of the chine. Just to be sure.

Jack stands do not support your boat. They keep it from tipping over. The blocks provide the support. You need blocks at the end of the keel, beneath the cockpit about where the motors are located and then beneath the windshield by the sling mark. Jack stands go in the same areas and are placed and snugged up after all the weight is settled in on the blocks.

That's absolutely correct. I should have been more thorough. I guess I just assumed the blocks were there - not good to assume. But, two blocks would be sufficient. Not knocking SBW's advice - if you've got access to more, use it. Better safe than sorry.

Not a bad idea to chain / cable the stands together for some added assurance they stay put.
