Jellyfish in April!?

There are jells all over the south river and middle bay, anyone know what is going on?

Noticed a few at West Basin over at Pax River. Thought I was seeing things.

They are on Spring Break.

They are everywhere on the South River. I counted over 30 in one glance at Londontowne Marina in Edgewater.

They are the winter jellyfish that most never see but this year the water is still cold and the saline content is high. Ruined last weekends fishing for some. Fish won't bite on a bait fouled with jellies.

I had a commercial netting company build me one that we use off the dock. It's 10'x15' and 8' deep, with weighted bottom and floats around the top. The netting used was delta 1/16” (8’ width) seine netting http://www.sterlingnets.com/.

Thinking about how to build a smaller one for off the boat now.
