Just wanted to let you know you have a bit of conflicting info I think, the W5 is not a free air sub and meant to be in an enclosure. The IB5 is free air or infinite baffle. Also retail for either speaker is $139, if we are talking about the same ones- hope it helps.

Russ,

I appreciate your concerns and don't want to come across as being disrespectful, but I have not listed this unit as being an infinite baffle unit.

You are correct; the M-10IB5 series model is designed for infinite baffle use.
The unit I am selling is an M10W5-CG-WH which I had installed in an enclosure under my port side back to back jump seats on my 1996 210BR.

As I have listed in my advertisement, I purchased the sub from an authorized JL Audio dealer. I am not selling a “Gray Market “or previously repaired unit.
I purchased this sub from ABT.com last year and have adjusted the price to be what I consider a fair asking price for a practically unused unit.

Please post the link to the site where you can purchase the sub I am selling from an Authorized JL Audio Dealer for $139.00 USD.

I have enclosed some information that persuaded me to purchase my sub from ABT.com:

From JL Audio’s website http://marine.jlaudio.com/jlaudio_pages.php?page_id=27 :
With marine audio products, the importance of quality system design and installation advice/service is paramount. Your local JL Audio retailers have made a commitment to provide the high quality of advice and service required to get the best performance from our products. We encourage you to support your local, authorized bricks-and-mortar JL AUDIO retailer. Look for the Authorized JL AUDIO Dealer plaque at your dealer. You may also search our Dealer Finder to locate dealers in your area.
JL AUDIO products purchased from unauthorized sources carry no warranty from JL AUDIO, regardless of any claims made by the seller. We have no way of determining whether these products are used, refurbished, counterfeit, stolen or otherwise compromised.

IMPORTANT WARNING, BUYER BEWARE:
Many unauthorized retailers attempt to remove factory serial numbers in order to avoid detection. In the process, the product's ability to reliably reproduce sound is often compromised. We have seen numerous instances of speakers that have been sliced open and improperly re-glued, amplifiers that have been improperly re-assembled, etc.
For those who prefer to purchase online, JL Audio also sets very high standards of service for its Authorized Internet Retailers.

I have enclosed some links to current pricing on this unit from JL Audio ($289.95 USD), Crutchfield.com ($289.99 USD) and ABT.com currently selling for $289.95 USD.

My friend has these speakers in his boat and they are really great. I have been considering changing mine to them - maybe picking up a used one like yours...

I have no idea how credible this dealer is but here it is for $189.... How much warranty do you get if you buy it direct from a JL dealer? these guys offer a 30day warranty.

Anothersearay,

You will find this sub cheaper at onlinecarstereo.com, but they are not an authorized JL Audio dealer.
I researched the sub on the same sites prior to buying this past June, and decided to purchase the sub from ABT http://www.abt.com/product/42820/JL-...IB5CGWH.htmlas they are an authorized JL Audio dealer.
I paid a little more for the comfort of knowing I would be covered in the event of failure.
The sub is basically brand new in the box and has no scratches or marks anywhere on it.
From JL Audio's site:

All JL Audio marine products are warrantied against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of Two (2) Years from the original date of purchase.
All warranty service requires original sales receipt documentation. The warranty only applies to the original purchaser from an authorized retailer.
The sub I am selling was new from an authorized seller backed by a 2 year factory warranty - although the unit's warranty is not technically transferable, I can guarantee the item is genuine and the serial number is authentic.
Can OnlineCarStereo.com make the same claim?

From OnlineCarStereo.com:

Limited 30 Day warranty from Onlinecarstereo.com implies that repairs must be returned to Onlinecarstereo.com, not the manufacturer.

Please contact me with any questions.
I will also ship this item for free to the contiguous United States.
Thanks for looking.

I just bought the next one up from californa for $189.00 with free shiping took 3 weeks to get shiped wis brand new your price is way out of line it is used so it at best is worth 1/2 of low retail . Yours go for $169.00 new.

Vandal,

I am glad you are happy with your purchase and best of luck with it.

Why are you looking and commenting on my post if you already have one? Three weeks to ship from CA to NJ – was it delivered by horse and buggy?

I am being as honest with my listing as possible, haven’t I provided enough data on the posting? Do you know how to comprehend what you read?
No need to respond - just use the money you supposedly saved to buy a spell-check program.

Thank you.

Okay, I was just confused by the free air resonance reference made from the web site. I purchased all 6 of my subs (and all JL equipment) from a local (brick and mortar) authorized dealer at aforementioned price. I understand the value of dealing with authorized dealers and locally for that matter- I owned several 12 volt shops and was a dealer myself for many years. I did not intend to cause issue and I was interested in purchase. I wish you luck and more importantly a great boating season!

No problem Russ, I hope you also enjoy a great boating season - hopefully the fuel prices will start to drop as the weather warms up.
