so. . .for the Jersey crowd. . .how have you managed with reassessment?
Where I am, the locals pushed the reassessment back one year due to falling house prices, and redid the "comps".
Just got the final letter this week, along with the quarterly tax bill. Hard to tell what really has happened, because the tax bill is actually an estimated bill (WTF!), and I see (minor) contradictory information between the web, the bill, and the assessment letter.
But overall, it looks like I am not significantly impacted by reassessment (house value tripled, millage dropped to 1/3rd). . . which is the way it is supposed to work, right?
. .. guess I should do my own comps anyway and decide if I want to protest. I may need to do something, because if everyone else protests and lowers their assessment. . .I gonna be hosed, right?
