I haven't been in a Walmart in years but Lowe's is the same. One cashier in the Pro checkout, one at the main checkout with 8 diy checkouts.

I don't see what the big issue is with self-checkouts. I use them whenever I can because they are faster than waiting in line at the staffed checkouts.

They're job killers, and I don't get paid to ring up my own stuff.
I left a cart at Lowes a few months ago because they closed the only cashier manned register minutes before I was going to check out.
I went to Hone Depot instead.

If I can put a robot in front of my machines ….I will in a heart beat. ….
If there isn’t a line at a big box store I will go to that but I am not waiting in line….self check out doesn’t bother me except Costco… I go to a lot of small business places hardware paint etc…. They can’t afford the automation….my local gas station went fully self checkout….I stopped going there….so for me it’s hit and miss

I prefer HD. When i need assistance to help me solve a problem, I can find someone knowledgeable in the products who can solve my problem. Lowes, i cant find anyone. Lowes is closer so if i know exactly what i need i will go there, if i need to solve a problem, its HD.
