Judge dismisses ticket because speed-limit sign was too smallAfter James Killian received a speeding ticket, he measured the signs in Spring Creek, Nev., and found that they were much smaller than state law requires.
"At 18 inches by 24 inches, the speed limit signs in Spring Creek are almost 300 square inches smaller than the 24-inch by 30-inch signs required," Elko Daily Free Press reports.
This led a local justice of the peace to dismiss the ticket that Killian received for going 39 mph in a 25 mph zone.
Officials say they'll replace the smaller signs, but that doesn't mean they're happy about it. “I don’t think you or I would have a problem reading that sign,” Otis Tipton, the county's roads supervisor, tells the paper.

I got to see what is required by my state and do a measurement next time I get a speeding ticket...
