Kelleys Is. Seaway

A friend of mine was docked there when it let go I just found out.
Our clubs trip is scheduled for mid July and they are telling us it should all be fixed by then.

That doesn’t look good…. I’m not a big fan of Kelly’s….. when I have gone we get a slip in the distance or the wall by the beach. I don’t think I want to be near the ferry…. My wife loses it when using the bathrooms…. The ferry people trash it

I got roped into going there this summer with another club. They rented a bunch of slips next door to the casino…. Can’t remember the name of it….. all I’ve heard is if the wind is from the west you’re getting a rocky ride ….. oh joy another reason to not like Kelly’s

You speak of Portside - ya you get trashed around at that place unless it's flat clam. Seaway is much better protected.
Personally, I love Kellys. Not rest home material but not as nutso as PIB.
Then again we are only there for three or four days. If I was there any longer, I'd probably get bored.

Yes portside ….. the only reason I said yes was it’s a short walk to town….. if there is any wind I’m out

Last time we had an outing there we were in the marina by the Casino. The boats rocked pretty good. I was lucky enough to be tucked between the seawalls up front. But the snakes. So many snakes. This year we are going to Seaway. Have not been there since they got finger docks. That was the year my wife got airlifted off the island (golf cart mishap) so I have some reservations about KI myself.
 
Yikes….. ok snakes are a full stop….. my wife is horrified of snakes
I’m already regretting saying yes….. friends…. Love them hate them
 
Blueone, I agree with K Dub, when we were at Portside a few years ago, I was washing the snakes off the dock all the time, using the hose. The bastards kept coming back!!!! We were out towards the end between the two sea wall. Last year, was at Seaway, didn't have any issues with snakes. We were put up in the back corner near the bath house, was a little tricky getting up into that corner due to other boats.

Ya I am pretty much talking my way out of going to Kelly’s

Just made reservations at Algonac arriving Thursday Aug 1st leaving Sunday Aug 4th… if you are around
 
Portside can be rough if that wind picks up. Was there last year for the derby in May and was all calm until 3 AM when we got rocked awake. Only nice thing is its a 15 minute cruise from my marina on the bay and can call over and get a slip most days or we just get a group from the marina and run over for dinner at the pump and some Brandy Alexanders. The outside west wall of the casino is the best if you can get it. Kellys is the perfect place to take the kids. Walk to everything downtown and the kids always catch walleye at dusk in the spring and early summer and have the best luck fishing off the Walls. The snakes are no worse than most of Sandusky bay
