Hi. I have just purchased a new 270 Sundancer and am thinking of adding the electric grill as a dealer installed option. Kenyon Floridian Series B70080. I understand it is an option on 310 and 330 Sundancers currently. I am looking for feedback from anyone who currently has one of these grills on their boat, Thanks. DAJ

I have a 2008 310 with factory installed electric grill. We love it, have used it a few times. and is easy to clean, and seems to provide good heat for the size

We are considering a new 290...where are are they going to place the grill? I'd love to see it once installed if you get it. Thanks.

Hi-

We have an '08 330 with the grill installed. It was on the boat in the showroom so we had no choice. We have NOT used it because we are concerned about a few possible issues.

1- Will the heat affect the material on the arch near the grill?
2- Will the smoke from the grill get into the cavas?
3- Is it worth the effort to use the grill and then have to clean it?
4- How much grease/splatter will be strewn about the cockpit from the grill?

On top of it, because it is 120v and not propane, the genny has to run when on the hook which we don't like. Once back on shore power, our marina provides free use of propane grills and it is much easier all around to use one of these.

If we had done a factory order, we would have opted to pass on the grill, ($2500 MRSP option) in lieu of more counter top space for snacks, etc.

Let me know how you make out.

I also have an 08 330 with the grill and the Admiral loves it.
She cooks everything from eggs/bacon/pancakes for breakfast to grilling steaks.

Heat or smoke has not been an issue. As far as cranking up the Gen. She normally does anyway so she can use the microwave at the same time, plus we need to recharge batteries after being out for several hours anyway.

Clean up not a real issue. She uses crumpled up aluminum foil to clean the grates. Cannot for the life of me get her to buy a brush.
Only real problem is the smell from the aluminum insert that catches grease etc.
It can be pretty nasty but their cheap to replace.

One consideration is the extra counter space by not having it and using a gas grill. Our boat also came with a bait cleaning table installed in a rod holder and we use that for addtional counter space.

I grilled burgers once under the canvas top cover with all sides up using a propane grill on the cockpit table. Never again! The top and sides took two cleanings to remove the smell. I got 3 grease drops on the carpet, grease on my pants, and hundreds of tiny spatters all over everything. I had to put a beach towel on the floor. Ruined that. Maybe the electric grill will be less hot, but stick to hot dogs and pancakes.
