DANGER WITH KENYON BUTANE STOVE!!!!!!!!!!! I WANTED TO REVITALIZE THIS OLD THREAD.
My 2001 245 WE came with the Kenyon Kiss Butane stove. I checked the stove out when i got the boat and everything looked and worked perfectly. I knew there were concerns, but i thought i would "keep a close eye on it". Stayed close and very tentative while using it.
But over the weekend, i sadly learned why I made the mistake of NOT taking it out immediately. Mine leaked into the cabinet under the stove and exploded after bing lit for a few minutes. No signs of leaking gas, bad seals. Nothing. Just a fireball burning the hair off my legs and belly. It blew the sink out of the counter, and the upholstery off the outside of the cabinet.
Never again will i read about concerns so dangerous and not take immediate action to eliminate the risk in my boat.
Please do not make the same mistake I did and assume that if there is a problem you will know about it before it blows up your boat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
