Kuuma water heater?

I have both engines out, and was going to replace my hot water heater... It was dead anyway....
Has anyone replaced the Atwood with a Kuuma unit.... I think I can get an 11 gal in there and the Kuuma
is a bit less expensive....

I have used 2 6gal heaters in previous boats. Never had an issue with either. I know the one I replace in the first boat back in 2011 is still working fine.

If you are going from 5-6 gal to 11... you need to also consider the additional weight in that location as it may make your boat list to one side when full.

jaywoods went from 6 to 11 on his 310. It's gonna be tight.

Yes, replaced original with a Kuuma. No issues with install or performance; starting 3rd year on it.

Why'd you pull the motors? Taking pictures of the bilge along the way? If so, post them in our other thread I'd be interested to see process for our boat (not that I hope to ever have to do it)

Had an issue with port motor.... I believe I had bad valve, or water in the engine.... So I decided I was not going to do it in steps...
Pulled both motors, going with remanned long blocks and repower.... I did take a few pics. Easy part is done... removing them.... we will see how the install goes in about 4-5 weeks..... Hopefully pretty smooth.....I am going to start switching the accessories over this week and ready them to be installed....
The hot water heater was dead for a couple years, but I didn't mind. Now is the time to replace it though...

IMHO a 29ft boat does not need any more than 6 gallons of hot water. Extra weight and expense plus having to adapt it into place. I'd use the 6 gallons and be done.
