I have a 1988 SeaRay Laguna 24 that I purchased over 2 years ago. The Boat was basically abandoned when I found it, after many hours of cleaning, polishing, electrical rewiring, and other items she has provided 2 years of fun on the water. Currently I am considering replacing the aging Mercury's 135 BlackMax, they are easy to work on and have been nothing but reliable, but I can see in the near future having to replace major components, like lower units, head gaskets, and trim/tilt unit.
My question is in reference to the transom, I know SeaRay had some issues with these boats in reference to transom stability and had issue a bulletin to dealer to add a reinforcement bracket to the transom, my boat show no problem at all, but wanted to research what this bracket was since if I do repower will be with more powerful engines.
Can anyone here provide some information in reference to this reinforcement, maybe some picture of what the actual bracket looks like.
Thank you in advance.
