Lake Front Marina is just as though there were high dollar places built on a garbage pit. The water coming into the marina is full of silt from Lake Erie due to how shallow the lake is there causing all kinds of problems with the boats. Ac units clogging up with sand and Zebra mussels, water pump impellers for the motors wearing out quicker due to the silt. Emagine what this is doing to the motors seeing as how fast the rubber impellers are wearing out. Also the channel interring into and exiting the marina is filling up with sand having to be dredged some times twice a year. Now as for the marina itself it is a nice looking place with a yacht club. But the prices charged are too steep knowing these problems. It is best off to be a fishing marina with less expensive boats that are not worried about the cost of maintenance do to the problems inherited by the silt and sand in the marina flowing in from the lake.

The channel entrance can definitely be a pain at times.

….and not a peep about management ? …..and what about mosquitos?….. carp and fish flys ?

When I was there the mosquitos were bad. At dusk one could not even sit outside. Reason why they are so bad there because there is a pocket of stagnant is water next to the marina.

I see you are at Gem Beach now. Why the move from Bay Point Marina?
Management… I didn’t respect the direction ….and no pool membership…funny when I left they all of a sudden had a pool membership …. And the bar restaurant fiasco last year which was a management issue…. and they kept picking on my dinghy…. Guest parking passes got me wound up one weekend… no diesel.

I didn’t pick Gem beach….it was the only place available for size of slip I needed. I have heard good and bad about the place but right now we are only scheduled for one weekend there this summer. I do like the location.
