Does anyone have a recommendation for a good boat surveyor and diesel surveyor near lake lanier?
I will be looking at a 460DA that's on the lake.

I have a friend with 2 460's one of which is at Bald Ridge if you have some specific questions about a 460, he's a good source. Let me know and I'll shoot you his number. Great boat...

I used Mike Griffin and was pleased with the effort...a little pricey at something north of $1k as I recall, but he gave me a full day, moisture tested the hull, compression tested the engines, and went through the boat with a fine toothed comb. Almost two years later, haven't run into anything I wasn't fully expecting that wasn't self inflicted. His phone is 678-977-8844

Thanks, They seem to be great boats. I know several folks with them as well and they have all been pleased with them.
I'll be moving it to fresh water also so some of the problems that I've seen from salt water would be less prevelant.

We'll see how it goes.

Thanks JediJD, I'll keep Mike's number.

Any other recommendations?

I have to tell you there are really only 2 surveyors that are well known on Lanier. I talked to both and went with Mike Griffin also. He is very impartial and takes his time and is thorough.

Exactly what you want. And I know I am not as picky as Jedi is! :))

I mentioned to my wife that I was a little taken aback by being thought of as possibly "picky" on Club SeaRay. Without missing a beat she said "They probably didn't mean 'picky'. They probably meant 'Anal retentive' but it didn't make it through the language filter." Despite the apparently earned reputation, I do think that surveyors and home inspectors should be picky SOB's...provide the largest volume of accurate information available and then let the decision making process commence. My wife is in the real estate world and she knows a home inspector in NW Atlanta who is called "Dr. Dealkiller" in private. He provides incredibly detailed and accurate information on why the house is badly built...but he doesn't get a lot of calls.

I have not had a boat on Lake Lanier surveyed, but since you asked another surveyor on Lanier is Dean Williams. If you want his info PM me nad I will be happy to pass it along.

Sincerely,

Capt. Jason
