Oars for now!
Looking to put a boat (320 SR 2006) on one of these two next spring and attempting to determine each one's amenities, marinas, boating conditions, usability(?), people/attitudes toward out-of-state boaters, cost for covered mooring, etc.

Usage would be one long weekend (4/5 days) per month, year round.

Would appreciate hearing from those boating in these specific waters.

Thanks.

Just get a first mate with boobies and take the mate with you on the boating endeavors where ever they may be?

Both lakes are great. Mead would be the more mellow of the two lakes and has better options for keeping a larger boat on the water.

Lake Havasu lots of go fast boats and more day boating than on mead where you have more over night or long weekends.
And yes Lake Havasu lots of boobs to see daily.

Lake Mead would be my choice-535 miles of shoreline-great coves for on the hook:)

Havasu is my kind of place....

Do you live in that area or commute? My thought is to commute from Temecula, CA (I'm one of the nice ones!!!!!) - about 5.5 hrs. 320ish miles - for one long weekend or week per month staying on a monthly (seasonal) covered slip. Much in the way of restaurants/bars/entertainment on the lake? Or is that more of the Havasu life style?

Morning-I commute from Apple Valley-240 miles from my driveway - last 15 years at Temple Bar Marina-covered slips available-not much on this side of the lake except really clear water - nothing like Lake Havasu-70 miles round trip on the water to Hoover Damn-Lake Mead Marina or Calville Bay Marina has lots of boats and people also has covered slips-best to bring your entertainment if you know what I mean-Temple Bar is a 1950's throw back-for me it's perfect on this side of the lake- have a couple of houseboaters that are from Temecula-Strange Weather dock 4 slip 407 come on by have a bourbon
