Bought new 12v 1w festoon replacement bulbs for Perco cockpit lights 12v 10w. The lights work in one of three of the fixtures. Old bulbs work in all fixtures. Any suggestions on troubleshooting?

I noticed when I replaced running light fixtures that the black wire in the boats harness was positive. As stated above, they are polarity sensitive.

Tried that, still nothing. Thanks for the suggestion!

Did you try the working lamp in the other 2, and also the lamps that didn’t work in the working fixture?

One appears to be DOA and the other will work, but contacts are very sensitive for some reason. If I rotate the new bulb in the contact clips it will light up. No corrosion on contacts so wouldn't think connection should be this sensitive. The standard bulb lights up in same fixture with no issues in any position.

Quality control issues. LED bulbs vary in quality enormously. Ironically the worst ones I ever bought were bought at the Toronto Boat show years ago from a dealer and they were stupid expensive. The ends collapsed pushing them into the fittings. I have bought from LEDWholesalers and have 8 years now on their bulbs. I have a bunch of lights at home that use the plug in corn cob’s. First Amazon batch started failing in 3 or 4 months. Bought replacements from another seller and they are fine.

I bought mine from Marinebeam and they have worked flawlessly. In the scope of things, the extra few bucks I spent doesn’t compare to the boat dollars I spent on other upgrades.

+1 for Marinebeam.
Been replacing all my lights and they have been great. Had a dud for my port navigation light. Called it in, they tested the replacement and shipped it right out. Very helpful, responsive company to work with.

+1 for Marinebeam!

I replaced all my cabin lights, anchor light, and red/green nav lights about 5 years ago. Still working great.
Just last week I decided to replace the cockpit lights (two lights near the floor in rear portion of the cockpit), transom locker light, and stern light and those came in and are working great as well. They are a little more expensive but seem to be quality.
