I believe that the Progres 1 gypsy takes 5/16 G4 chain, can ayone confirm this with me? I have a deal to by 400' feet of this and before I do I want to confirm, and my books are on the boat.

I have the same windlass. It takes 5/16" HT chain (its stamped on the Windlass). G4 means "Grade #40" which is High Test Anchor Chain. You can also use "BBB" grade chain.
