Looking at a 2003 240 sundeck....need some help please

We are going to look and trial a 2003 240 sundeck tomorrow. It has a 350 Magnum Mercruiser Bravo III outdrive with 486 hours. The seller describes it as excellent condition, says the interior is perfect, has all the snap-in carpet that has never been used. It also includes an aluminum tandem axle trailer. He also says that it has been freshwater ran only. He is asking 22,900 firm.....If the boat is in excellent condition like he says.... would this be a fair price for this year model boat? We are new to this so any insight is appreciated.

If it really is in the condition that he says, has maintenance records, and no issues with compression, outdrive corrosion, steering pin leaking etc.....I’d say he’s asking a fair price for it.

The time of year also affects asking price.
The same boat for sale in November would sell for less.

As always, get a survey. Don’t buy someone else’s nightmare.

Two years ago, I purchased 04 240 Sundeck, marina maintained with documentation, carpet never used, very clean and well cared for, full canvas, 260 hours, fresh water boat only, trailer included. I paid 24K, but it was also in October.

Condition is everything. At the beginning of boating season, with a nice desirable boat, prices are high. That is only 1-2,000 high, and not at all if it is in very nice shape.

More info on the trailer could help justify the price. A brand new trailer? That could be a $4k trailer. A few years old but in good condition? Still worth a few grand itself.

I paid $23k for the 04 version last Sept...pretty much same condition, a few wear issues here and there.

I think it is... if you find anything wrong ...it should come off that price or use it to negotiate

I would find a 2004 or newer for the Smartcraft gauges, or a 2005 or newer for the toggle switches rather rocker switches.
