Had the boat out all day today, and towards the end she didn't seem to be running as strong. No big issues, but just didn't seem to have the oomph or the upper end this evening. Might have just been chop and a a heavier load than normal, but just felt a bit off and was topping out at like 35 or so.
I was wanting to do a tune up anyway regardless, and wanted to get some current recommendations on parts for plugs, wires and cap/rotor. It is an 06 MPI 4.3. I'm a big believer in quality parts for the ignition, so I wanted to see what folks use and what results they have seen. I use either NGK or Bosch (either platinum or iridium) in my vehicles with good results (both on high performance cars and the SUV as well). As for wires, I had went from 7mm factory wires to 8mm magnacore wires and saw a huge difference on my truck. I would rather not just buy the parts from the dealership for the same price as quality aftermarket parts if possible.
Also, is this easy to do while the boat is in the water? Looks pretty straight forward.
