Spent the entire weekend working on the boat! That's a 42' OceanYacht in the reflection as well as a Classic Searay 300.

wow, looks great!!

how was the condition of your hull before you used it? What did you use to polish it after using the buff magic, and did you use a Porter Cable ?

Great pictures. I agree. I used BM on my hull this year and it looks great for an 11 yr oldHull before polish 2011.jpg.hull after polish 2011.jpg.

THis is the before and after. Pro Polish was used after BM

I bought that last year and would never use anything else. This was my second boat that had bad chalking. It is magic! I was told that it is a variable grit, starts at 1200, and breaks down to 2400. One of the other boats this year ant the marina started to compound his boat. I did not realize what he was doing until I walked over because I heard him cursing. He had a stubborn stain that would not come out. I let him use some of the buff magic, and then he yelled at me for not showing him it sooner. It would have cut down his work effort enormously.

One thing, after you buff the boat out, use a good wax since buff magic does not have any UV protection.

Thank you! The hull had a very light oxidation as I only buff it once per season. The product was just so easy to use. I have a Flex Random Orbital but I went and bought a cheap rotary buffer at Harbor Freight and that is what I used. I am now a believer in using the rotary verses an orbital for the best results. I did use the Flex for applying the Pro Polish from Shurhold.

I used Pro Polish this year. I typically have used Starbrite w/ PTEF. We will see if it holds up as well as Starbrite. Are you in the water yet? River has been kind of high with alot of debris floating. I am going in this Saturday. I hope the debris is almost over.

Boat looks great ! Curious where you got the buff magic from. I can't find it in the local marine stores.

You can order the Buff Magic directly from Shurhold Industries. It comes in three sizes directly from Shurhold - WM only carries the smallest size. It truely is great stuff!

I used bm on both my boats this year ,the marina was so impressed with the rubout they moved my bayliner into the main showroom. This weekend i used bm on my dock box and a coat of strbrite wax,my dock neighbors asked if i was trying to make them look bad because they take thier boxes home for the winter and clean them up and i spent 1/2 hr on mine ,thiers looked pretty sad next to mine when i left to come home today.

18 Years old, Buff Magic topped with Rejex.

Nuff Said, Buff Magic is THE product to use.

**The hailer has since been replaced.**

incredible results. and i love the two tone with the Grey, its stunning. i will do before and after pics on my majorly oxidized dull-dancer and see if i can make it a Sundancer again.
i bought it in 09 and have probibly put about 30-50 hours on it since then but im in Afghanistan and only get 14 days a year vacation. come on sept then im done this overseas stuff for good.

OK....I'm impressed. In fact so much so that I'm asking for a bit more detail on the process. I have paid detailers in the past and just don't get the service I need when I need it so maybe it's time to take this on myself.

My biggest concern is not damamging the gelcoat with the rotary buffer. So if anyone can supply buffer speeds and type, products used and in what stages I'm ready to take the plunge. Probably start in a fairly inconspicuous area though just in case!

At Ease, I have have been in the water for a little over a week. But I was so sick last week with a sinus infection that I did not even get down there until Sunday. Where on the river are you? I am at Portland Riverside Marina. I will be heading down there maybe tomorrow night to run power since they finally move me to my slip. They are installing new electrical so not all the slips have power as of this past weekend. Still have some work to do before I pull away from the slip.

Deep River. I was at Portland Boat Works the first year I bought the boat but have been in DR for three years. Hope you are feeling better.
