I am mounting the 4g radar on my 2007 260DA. Wanted opinions if i need a down angle wedge to provide proper angle of radar when at cruise speeds. It will be mounted on factory installed radar arch. I will be using the radar mostly for close range obstacle avoidance.

Thanks for any opinions.

John, how much mounting area do you have on your arch? Distance between the fwd and aft canvas when mounted on the arch? You may need a mount versus mounting the unit directly to the arch. The angle depends on the attitude of your boat at your cruise. In my case, my arch has a molded, round and flat mounting area. The stock mounts have bases with diameters equal to or greater than it's diameter. I had a custom 5" base put on a mount. I chose 3 degree downward angle as I normally have a bow up attitude during the times I rely on my RADAR and the 3 degrees is what my scenario required. My custom mount was $165. -Richard
