I may be moving to Suffolk, VA to take over a business. If I do are there any good marinas and boating in that area. I think I was told I would be about 40 miles from VA Beach.

Depends on how close you want to be to Suffolk. Smithfield Landing is great. If you want to travel a bit, Remlik Marina in Urbanna has covered slips a great mechanic who lives there and a no BS office politics crowd. Let me know as the time gets closer. There are others.

If this works out that I go there I would like to live on my boat for a while. I'll check out the two you mentioned.
Thanks and I will let you know.

First, welcome to the area. There are some many great boating areas to be found here. Second, where in Suffolk will you be working and what river might you want to be near? How far from work would you like to be?

I don't have much experience in the area. On a side note, Just realized you were a gulf war vet. Thank you for your service.

I keep my 37 at Smithfield station in Smithfield. Not far from Suffolk and a great marina and restaurant. Check it out when you can. Welcome to the area!

After staying at Smithfield Station for two days, I completely agree! This was the nicest marina, the best food, and the greatest staff! I'd be proud to place my boat in this family owned marina

Add to that, the town itself is like stepping back in time. Tha Luter's have done a great job over the years.

Thanks everyone for the info. Not sure I am moving there just yet. But if I do I am taking my boat for sure. Smithfield Landing sounds very good. I'll know better about where once we decide on the business.
Bill - thanks. I really enjoyed being a soldier and serving.
I'll keep you all posted on what I decide to do.
