I have an 07 Sea Ray Sedan Bridge 36. Two weeks, I came into the dock after a nice run. Shut the engines off and waited for some friends maybe an hour or two. Went to restart the boat and port engine fired right up, starboard turned a small amount and then clicked. I pulled the plugs and water came out of the number 3 cylinder. I check the oil looked perfect. I pulled the rest of the plugs no sign of water. I turned the engine over with no plugs and coated the inside with fogging oil. This week came down and installed new risers, manifolds, plugs and wires. It fired right up but had a loud knock. I very carefully raised the rpms up to 2,000 the knock went away but you could still feel a vibration and a cylinder not firing (guessing). I quickly took it back to idle and the knock became much louder.
Question is, I know a bent rod is probably what happen but I never had the engine lock up when running. Anything else you have seen cause a loud knock on a 496?
