I have a 07 320 Sundancer with twin 350 mag mpi mercs and a v drive transmission. I was getting an alarm and going into guardian mode which they fixed with a water pressure sensor. This was/is all on the starboard engine. That engine works great cruising at 3800 rpms or so but when I put the hammer down and push it to 4000 I get an alarm on that engine, no guardian mode, it keeps running but has the annoying alarm. The mechanics can't find anything and said it's like a "ghost alarm", no real reason for it. I was hoping maybe someone has experienced something similar and has some ideas. That engine has always had trouble getting up much above 4000 rpms , max 4300 but has had plugs and injectors changed and risers, etc. Would LOVE for some insights. thank you

They hooked up the computer and no codes? No error messages/codes in the smartcraft 5000 monitor?

yes they looked for codes, no codes after they fixed the original water pressure sensor.

really appreciate your responses and help Todd, it is one constant alarm until I basically pull the throttle back pretty far then it stops quickly and I can go again.

I believe I just received the same error codes and puts it into guardian mode. You said you had your sensor replaced and it worked? Is this something I could do myself? It’s also very uncanny how this happened the day after I had my generator water sensor replaced.

Any other thoughts?

AJ, funny, I am still getting the alarm at 4000 rpm on my starboard engine. I just noticed however last week that the mechanics put the new water pressure sensor on the WRONG ENGINE! Anyway, the old one on the starboard engine shows 21 psi of water pressure when the engine is off and I just push the engine switch to auxillary so I am going to switch the pressure sensor switches this week and check it. Mercury said that may be what is triggering the alarm, I hope so. Its super easy to replace, I have a v drive so its right on the front, top of the engine. Should take 5 minutes if that. Hope that helps.

Not sure if you resolved your issue but I had a similar issue with my MX6.2L engines. I was getting a soft alarm at some times and sometimes not. Typically soft alarms (1 or 2 beeps every minute or two) are associated with things like IAC, TPS, etc. But, when I would run the boat up in RPM it would continuous alarm at about that same RPM. The issue ended up being a partially functioning IAC. Would work at idle - sometimes-But wouldn't give enough air at high RPM. Didn't go into limp mode just switched to solid alarm until I cam back down to under 1800 RPM. Worse too, the IAC didn't show as a code on my Rinda Techmate. Might be worth switching out your IAC
