Hi guys
Boat hasn’t been starting or cranking. i think I found the cause.
mercruiser 6.2l inboards

a little plastic block that goes from the motor and ignition to the solenoid.
I can’t find a parts manual or code/description for the part.

it looks like not making contact properly. When I try tighten nuts they just continually spin and when I tap it the ignition goes off and on.
not sure what this does and whether just a connection block or something special.

1. does anyone know of that part
2. Does anyone know of a parts manual

thanks heaps in advance.

My tech had to replace mine a few months ago, one (he replaced both, though) went out after stopping 500ft from the dock (After a weekend on the water) to dump the waste tank.

did you find everything is alive including starter switch (alerts when on still) but didn’t crank?

Don’t recall, but I’m pretty sure this is what happened: beeped when I turned it to on position, but press to start, and nothing. Had I seen your original post I would have known exactly what it was based upon pic. I looked in engine room, and I saw something burned up and was going to try and replace myself, but after speaking to the tech, he was able to get to it that week, so just let him handle it.

Update: replaced the fuse today and no start still. The old one was "working" but didnt look healthy anyway.
Tapped the starter and solenoid, no clicking on ignition either.
I then tapped around some cables while son had finger on ignition switch and kicked over when I tapped a bunch of cables as pictured (attached)
Not sure if one is loose or broken - more investigation
