Miami boat show advice!!

Where is the CSR gang meeting I would like to meet all these Technical Contributors

Mike

Just decided last night that we may go on the 17th, but just for one day. Hoping to have bought a new boat by then, otherwise, I'll probably miss out on tons of upgrade savings possibilities.

well live maybe 40 minutes away from there...tell me a date to go...ill meet...i would like to see the sea ray dealer rep...would like to get the tour also:) anywho let me know a day....ill be there.

I'm leaving Friday after work and satying at a freinds house in Jupiter. We'll be there Saturday and Sunday. Where was the CSR (or Sea Ray) party talked about earlier in this thread?

Mikey, I would not really plan on being invited. We are a pretty select group and you are not select material.

I am free anytime.....Lats & Atts has a great party at strictly sail on Saturday night with band, food and drinks......

HELP!

I thought I would have a deal by then, but now, I'm not sure. One way or the other, if I do not have a new boat deal by then, how do I handle these purchases?:

If it has Tracvision, we'll upgrade it to digital (triple antenna) - Can we make the deal pending purchase?

We will be adding a hyd swim platform. Can we make that deal pending purchase?

Double nav if it doesn't have it...

Cockpit A/C

Glendinning Cablemaster.

These are the features we plan to upgrade our next boat with. How do we make these deals happen if we haven't yet selected the exact boat? It will be an '07 or '08 44DB (or possibly and 09, but if it is, there probably won't be any upgradin' goin' on.

I'm sure you can make any of your boat show deals subject to purchasing your new boat. Have you really thought through some of those upgrades though? The HD Sat is one expensive upgrade ($7500 at the NY Show for KVH HD7), not to mention the huge dome you'll have on top. You probably meant bridge AC not cockpit AC, I'd advise buying one that has it installed already, it can be done but it's not easy or cheap. Lastly, I've always wondered if the glendenning tubs and accesories were put in before the stern enclosure was put on or not. Looks like a tight fit to add after the fact. It is nice to have though, especially if you've got the single 50A cord. A second chartplotter is a must and should only run you less than $6,000 installed. I guess if you buy the boat at the right price putting these upgrades in will make sen$e. Just my $.02. good luck :smt038

I appreciate your inputs. Yes, I have thought about them - quite a bit. Think of this as being exactly like a brand new boat that we plan to keep through our 50's with all of the latest gadgets, but the hull costs 1/2 price. We aren't buying these options for the boat - they are for us.

This will be our first time to the BIG SHOW and I was wondering if anyone had any advice as far as parking etc.. any info would be much appreciated!

Dave

When I was in South Beach I took the bus it was about a 5min ride, that's the best way unless you want to pay $20 to park. Have fun and get your check book out.

All the public parking and beaches on Collins Ave up to I recall 84th st offer reasonable parking and the shuttles stop at them all.

We're there! Having coffee 2 blocks away. Walking over now.

Awesome show today. Made it through Sea isle marina today and started at Miamarina for the strictly sail portion. I was aboard the 500 Sundancer. Nice boat but disappointed with the aft cabin. It was super small. They didn't know the price but said it was near a million. No thanks. The Cruisers 45? 48? boat I thought was fantastic! This is the boat where the cockpit is open to the salon. There was a ton of light in the salon. The aft cabin had a full size queen as well. The Silverton 50 sedan bridge was very impressive as well. 3 staterooms! Tons of space! Great engine access. My wife said let's do pizza and beer tonight, so im not going to argue after a disappointing dinner out last night. Back to it tomorrow!

I'm back in Atl, then off to work tomorrow - back to Costa Rica.

Saw the 450DB - loved the bridge. The stateroom look the same. Didn't like the salon.

Saw Sea Lift and FBT hyd lifts.

Lumishore Underwater LEDs - REALLY High Power. Getting a dealer status. Plan to get these. OMG - they are really nice. http://www.lumishore.com/products/thru-hull-colour-change.html X-72's They also make flush mount versions not depicted (3" holes for sides).

We did Collins Ave yesterday and got on some “big” boats and then had dinner at Devito’s (Danny DeVito’s Restaurant) in South Beach, you can’t beat the “scenery” in South Beach! Today going to the Convention Center…

Anybody wanting to meet for a drink here, email me at larry.shiner@verizon.net
