On the bright side we walked in for dinner at 7:00 and got a table and service right away. Golf cart parking spot out front ….Hopefully it stays this way
We took a ride though Sandusky Bay about 3:00 and nosed out to the lake. I was figuring it would be pretty crowded with boats going out through the channel about that time to the islands...there was only 1 and they were coming in. It was empty. Wierd.
I know a couple boats from our dock headed that way tomorrow. We are busy the next few weekends with our kids grad stuff. Booked in July at MBI, PIB, and Kelly's in Aug so far. Hoping the crowds stay down!
Boat traffic on the Portage River was very heavy all weekend as was the lake. Went out on Sunday. Very busy. Like the Fourth of July in Port Clinton. Rest. were all packed.
I have been going to the islands since the 70s spent 20 years going to Put In Bay every weekend in the 90s. Back in the 70s through the 90s island prices were comparable to mainland prices. When all the hotels along with the swim up bars came into existence prices steadily went up. I hear a Bloody Marie cost $8.00 at one of the places and it was not that big of a glass. I used to say you can't put a price on a good time. That has changed seeing how bad the prices have gotten. I own a place in Fort Myers Beach Florida and the cost is nowhere near the pricing on the islands. Next time at Put in Bay want to make the bartender laugh: Ask what time is happy hour?
