mildew stains on headliner

Does anyone know how to remove dark mildew stains on the headliner. The staining is only in the v-berth and is due to a combination of rain leaks(fixed) and poor storage by previous owner. The headliner is a carpet type material. Would steam-cleaning be an option?

I use one of these on the boat. I steam clean the interior once a year. :smt001

I also put some of this stuff in the streamer water to make the boat smell nice !!

I mix bleach/water at 50-50 and then spray it on a rag and then blot it.
