More bottom paint questions

Hi,guys getting ready to make the boys and wife paint the bottom of boat. First year with boat not sure what old oner used before. Power washed and litely sanded. Going to use Pettit hydro coat.used before with good results. Should I leave a 1/2inch around the drives or paint up to them. Going to use Pacifica plus on the drives. Can these paints touch . Sorry for the dumb questions just not sure. They are alpha 1gen2. That have old paint on them except the starboard intermidet housing it is new. Thanks again .

Does the Pettit contain copper? If so, leave the gap. Probably safe to leave the gap anyhow.

Leave a gap. Use 1/2" painters tape all around the transom plate.

Not a dumb question. Leave a GAP for sure. Did you already buy the paint?
