Mounting a transom transducer

I want to install a Garmin 720s. I have a 260 Sundancer and would like any tips on mounting the transducer. I hate when they don't give depth readings at crushing speed

The through the hull style is your best bet.

So you are saying you have a depth finder and it doesn't give you readings at cruising speeds?

If your existing one is on your transom and you want to re-rout to the same location, as many recommend on here, purchase a 'Transom Saver'. First fill the existing holes with epoxy.

Don't forget to seal the new holes with butyl tape. Do it right and they won't leak.

If you want to add a transom unit, Garmin's instructions that come with the product are very clear. Follow their guide for location and adjustment.
