Hello everyone,

First off I am a new member as I am 90% confirmed buying a '93 Sedan Bridge 550, it has been a summer use fresh water boat all its life, but will get to taste the salt in a few months.

I have been working on boats for 30 years, from complete rebuilds, to repower etc. mostly Cat (3208,3126), John Deere, some Cummins and Detroit, ZF and Twin disc trans as well.

The vessel I am looking at has a slight rattle at idle on the port engine, having heard this before to me it's the coupling between the engine and trans, put it in gear and it goes away.
I would have no trouble changing this out, but I don't see an easish way to lift the engines. If I take the carpet up are there floor panels that can be removed to access the engine room? since its the port engine, would the cabinetry be in the way that backs up to the dinette area?

The question for the masses is what transmissions were used with the MTU engines, seems there was not many sold with them. Anyone know what the part number or brand of the coupler/vibration damper would be?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Given the small number of those boats sold with that engine option, you're best bet to get all of the information you're looking for, accurately, would be to contact Sea Ray Customer Service; 865-971-6250
