Wanted to tell you guys what I've done so far and ask for any advice.

Changed gear lube
Changed enigine oil/filter
Changed oil/filter in Genset
Got pink through genset and running out side of boat
Got pink through ac and running out side of boat
Turned on all faucets to drain holding tank
Jumped hot/cold on hot water heater
Drained hot water heater by opening drain valve
Attached hoose to fresh water pump and got pink running out of each faucet on cold and hot side
Also got pink flushing in to toilet

I know I still need to get the pink through the engine cooling system, fog motor, and I have to give her a good bath just wanted to see what else you guys might recommend. Thanks for any help.

I went back and forth about using -50 or -100 and I know -100 adds more piece of mind but we really don't get the weather for that and the boat will be stored inside. It isn't temp controlled but still inside. I didn't align the drive but since the drive will be stowed up I plan to check the bellows and everything in the spring and will check the alignment then. Thanks for your input sfergson, I can always depend on you for advice.

Did you change the water separating fuel filter also?
Changed oil/filter in Genset
Did you change the oil and water separating fuel filter here also? To Scott's point, also clean the flame arrestor on the generator.
Got pink through genset and running out side of boat
Did you first remove the thermostat? If not you may have not protedted the block, the expensive part.
Got pink through ac and running out side of boat
I also clean the A/C air filters, A/C and Generator strainers. This could be done in spring.
Turned on all faucets to drain holding tank
Jumped hot/cold on hot water heater
Drained hot water heater by opening drain valve

Did you remember the intake and faucet in the stern locker? How about the stern shower if you have one?

Add stabil to gas, pump out potty, 1 gallong of pink down the potty.
Pink down all drains, step drain, sink drains, head shower drain, AC drip pan drain.
Remove carpet, have cleaned over winter. Remove food items, clean cabin. Turn off fridge and prop open. Add decon anti-rodent
When did you last change impellers?
When did you last have a engine tune up? (spark plugs, rotor, cap, inline fuel filter)
How are the anodes?

Plan on doing this after doing the fog.

The manual for my genset says to change at 500hrs so I didn't change it although I have one sitting by

My motor is self cooled as is the genset.

Hooked up an air fitting and blew out stern locker intake and faucet/ also got pink coming out of stern shower

I just replaced the genset and seawater pump impellers in the late spring. The genset impeller let go while I was out on the water so when I did that one I just went ahead and did the seawater pump at the same time.

Alright, I used the 5gal jug method to get the pink through the motor. I first pulled the blue drain plugs and used the supplied pump to get out as much water as I could. Reinstalled the plugs and then hooked up 5gal jug. The motor sucked the 5gals of pink QUICK. I was a little shocked. I then put the cocktail in my fuel filter and ran another 2gal through. Not sure how I could run it for 5minutes or until it shuts down as quick as it goes through the pink. Hopefully I am all good now. 7 gallons of pink should do it I hope especially since I'm only doing the the exhaust and not the whole motor. My motor is self cooled.

I used to use the jug method after draining as well...it proved to be too difficult to time everything and I almost fried an impeller due to the hose coming from the jug almost kinking......I now use the drain system and drain the block, etc AFTER fogging and then I remove all the hoses at the T-stat housing and fill the hoses with pink....I do the block, manifolds, etc and then I do the water line coming in from the drive and it pushes the water out the back of the drive.....Reattach hoses and clamps and your done.....Its a lot easier and actually saves the pink stuff

I personally use a shop vac to suck out all the remaining water in the shower sump. Some people just run pink stuff down the shower drain, but I use a shop vac on it.

Also, right before she goes into storage, I use a shop vac and I go to all the port holes on the side of the boat, and suck out any reamining water in the plastic pipes.

I also check my water level in my batteries as well, and if need be I top them off with distilled water.

After I drain using the blue plugs, I pull my thermostats out, and run the motor, that way I know 100% the pink stuff got thru the motor. I wish I could get away from pulling the thermostats and just running her up to temp on fresh water, and then change over real quick to pink. But, I haven't gotten that brave yet, so going on 5 plus years of yanking the thermostats.

You removed the drain plug on the water heater, but you should also remove the check valve so that all the water drains out. My check valve is a white plastic piece that threads into the tank on the exit side. Be careful as the threads are easy to mess up, and take note on which way it came out so you put it back the same way.

Sounds like the rest of your process went well.

Did mine this past Saturday while it was almost 80 degrees and the rest of my buddies where out having fun. But at least I will not be doing it when it is bitter cold, like I have done in the best too many times.

Winterizing . . dang seems early. I was actually floating in the water this past weekend, Miller lite(s) in hand – water temp was still mid 70 – felt 30 though. I’m hoping to wait until after the annual Christmas parade to winterize, then just run pink through the water system and let the bilge heater do the rest. Just hope we don’t have a winter like last year, if so I’ll do the mid January engine flush.

This maybe a stupid question, but how come you guys change the lubricants at the end of the season instead of the beginning of the season?

change the outdrive fluid to check for water intrusion. Water in outdrive could freeze and damage the case

change the engine oil as used oil is said to be corrosive. Better pulled out and replaced with fresh before putting away.
