I think I know what I need to do but thought I would ask here first. Is there an easy way to tighten up the pop rivet on the turn button latch that secures the pass-through windshield?

The pass-through windshield has two turn buttons that secure the window section closed. One is tight and holds the window secure. the other spins like a top. The only way I can think of to fix this is to drill out the rivet and replace making it tighter. Can't think of a way to squeeze it down tighter. Don't want to hammer on it and risk breaking the glass. Is there a trick that I don't know? Anybody else have this problem and figured out a solution? If not, I will break out the drill and pop rivet tool and have at it.

The picture is of the "good" one. The one that needs attention is at the bottom of the glass.

To avoid drilling you could add a couple of small strips of adhesive backed PVC/rubber/plastic to the window frames (at the loose latch) to tighten things up. Two black strips shouldn't be entirely offensive, aesthetically...

Have you checked whatever it is that the window rests on at the bottom? Perhaps one of the stoppers has shifted, allowing the window to come too far in at the bottom...

Not sure if it would work, but try wrapping some light test fishing line between the turn button shaft and the windshield if you can get it behind there. That may tighten it up.

Thanks for both replies. I was so focused on tightening the turn button that I didn't consider building up the closed foam gasket. I think I will give that a try first.

Thanks for the replies. Stee6043 made me focus on something other than the turn button. I replaced the closed foam gasket between the center glass and the frame, and everything works as it should. I never noticed how compressed the gasket had become over the years. Back to boating. Thanks!
