navigation light portside 280da

Hi - I have found my portside navigation lamp has blown - I undid the screw on the top and removed the stainless steel cover but the red plastic housing seems solid.
is there something I am missing or should know as I dont want to break the housing ?
I believe the the light is a attwood 3800 series like this one here https://www.fpmarine.com/Bow-Light-Bi-Color-Sea-Ray-part-1771010-p/ls 23-38107bowlight.htm

That red plastic housing sits inside the plastic/rubber gasket to make a weatherproof seal. Gently, but firmly pull up and the red cover will come off. I just replaced my bulb with an LED last night.
