So our shower and head floor drain “screens” are in need of replacement as It looks like the PO used something down the drains that discolored and eventually rotted away the screen. Has anyone replaced the screen? Are they threaded? Any source for the replacements the parts manual only provides the size 1.25” I’m assuming that’s the pipe size. Any help is appreciated as the wife is bugging me to replace them.......

What about a drop-in screen from Home Depot? The kind you pull right out to clear/clean. I'm not sure about your drain, though, if you can use one that drops in (meaning, the drain is concave enough to allow something to sit down inside it).

I have found for many plumbing needs, specialty compression washers, seat valves etc. That a good RV store generally has an equivalent part. I have nearby access to one so i just take the old part in and they advise if they have.

Some of the Sea Ray showers I have seen use a compression fitting that pushes into the drain opening. Those are removable using a wire that is strong enough to pull them out without breaking the wire. You just fish the wire through drain holes opposite one another and apply gentle lifting pressure. If you are fortunate enough to have a threaded drain cap, those are easily removable for cleaning using the spanner wrench that opens the sea chests in your bilge. We kept our wrench in a compartment under steps to our salon. We used fiberglass circular window screen cut outs under the drain cap to keep the bilge pump clean. This saved us from cleaning hair and related gunk out of the pump which was hard to reach.

I replaced every drain in my boat-7 in all. I bought bar sink drains at HD and had them turned down about 1/2” in diameter to match what came out although they would have been fine like they were. They had a center piece that is simply pushed in with three little prongs on the side that kind of make a compression fit. Easily removed with a pair of needle nosed pliers or a small piece of wire as indicated above. I have 3-extra of the center pieces with the holes if they would do you any good. If interested, measure inside diameter of your drain and pm me. Will be at the boat Saturday and can send out if they fit.
