Hello fellow Sea Ray owners. I have a 2006 340 where I need to re-bed the deck railing that the sun pad snaps too. Picture is attached. The issue I have is it does not appear you can easily remove the inside headliner to get to the underside of the bolts. Am I looking at this all wrong? I took the little skylights out and I can see one of the bolts but the others are hidden under the main big headliner inside. Has anyone ever re-bedded these rails?

Hi I had a 340 I am familiar with your boat. Question, why do you need to re-bed the railing? If I had to do it I would give it my best effort to reattach railing from above. I mite drill hole through T post area on railing and make some kind of expanding nut that I could slip into existing hole in deck. Just an idea. Being a machinist NOT a carpenter that would be my rout.

The fittings are leaking and I need to stop the water from coming in. But, in order to access all eight bolts, the entire headliner from galley to berth needs to come out. I'm thinking caulking around the fittings may be the best answer.

If there is water entering from the fittings it is possible that the core in the deck is wet/ rotting. Caulking from the topside may seem to be an easy fix but it won't solve the problem long term.

I pulled the small sky light out and checked the wood under the first bolt. This is at least one of the bolts that is definitely leaking. Fortunately the wood is still in great shape. No major damage. I think I caught it in time.

PM me a number please...we can talk. Did I mention amongst other things on my resume, I am a graduate of Alvin Community College in your neighborhood and have run 518 more times than I-10. You on Clear Lake or Kemah?

Can I help? just ask
