New twin 4.3's - 235hp each with Alpha 1 Gen 2 Drives
So - I took advantage of the Great Lakes 25% off sale. The weather finally cooperated enough to get it all installed and it looks fantastic. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish - I think it actually fits better than the original pieces. They shipped the front visor windows and the side curtains rolled up with foam sheets between the individual pieces. Question is now how to really store it properly on a small cruiser? The old stuff was awful when I got it and I just rolled it up and put it in the closet but I really want this to last. What do you all do?

I hung some 1x3's in my garage, three of them, parallel to each other, spaced about 18" apart. I put cup hooks into each of the 1x3's, spaced about 3" apart, and lined up so they are in a straight line from one board to the next. I use regular binder clips like you would use in an office and suspend the strataglass panels. Most of panels are wide enough to be hung from all three 1x3's, but the narrower panels can be hung from just two.

Sheets in between and rolled up around a swim noodle, then just put it on the shelf along the v berth.

Scott-do you keep it on the boat? I like the idea-nice and simple.

First class-That is a good idea for periods of time when they won't be used for awhile.

We only do this with the side and aft panels. We keep the front panels and the first ones on each side zipped in place during the summer. The rest of them we bring home because they don't take up space on the boat. They hang straight, about 3" apart and are clean and ready to be re-hung when in the fall.

BTW, we bought some polyester blanket-like material from WalMart to put between them when we transport them so they never touch each other. That's part of the secret to keeping them looking good for many years.

Yes, I keep them on the boat...I'm afraid if I bring them home, they'll get covered in cat and dog and hamster hair.

I thought you killed off the hamster? Did you ever get another one?

Looks like the same one for my boat. Same Green. Could you please tell me your cost? Do you have the campers peices and does it have the zippers? Did you get new support pipes? Thanks John G

Hey - I am tired of the green and am moving to navy blue (Captain Navy) Sunbrella with the vinyl backing on it. I got the front bimini, front visor windows (3 pieces) and side panels (2 pieces) - all of it with the 25% discount they had in Feb was $795 with shipping and I bought their snap tool which was $50.

2. Bimini Top (Fabric Only) Qty:1 $403.47
3. Bimini Top Boot Qty:1 $53.02
4. Bimini Top (Enclosure) Side Curtains (set) Qty:1 $194.80
6. Bimini Top (Enclosure) Visor Curtain Clear (set) Qty:1 $286.34

Now to just get the time to get the cabin decor changed to get rid of that green carpet!

We also roll them using large beach towels and store in a large duffle bag on the boat (aft cabin). When its the dreaded off season I hang them using male snaps in the floor joists in the basement.
