If you are intersted in having the boat insured be sure the Surveyor is approved by your insurance company as well. I only know of this issue due to Boat Us Insurance refusing a survey from a legitimate surveyor because he also has financial interest in a marine repair business. After some back and forth they still will not budge.

It is a project boat and is a bit "iffy" whether it is insurable by anyone until I repair a rotten stringer and a few other issues in the spring.
