Yes, there is a good reason... this is my boat. I'm a proud owner of a 2009 Sea Ray 270 Sundancer. In fact, I know several people who are considering moving up to the 270 as there seems to a lot of incentives/price drop right now (in Canada).
I may be bias but I think Sea Ray has got this one right except for a few minor things. Of course, the big thing is that my 270 is now the 280 with the old 280 model being dropped. I find this note worthy since it makes my 2009 270 sort of unique.
BTW, the '09 270 comes with a windlass and the bow rails are functional (and look fine to me). The sky light is well sealed, it has less of a chance to leak unlike the hatch but nobody worries about that. The benefit of the skylight is it opens up the cabin and great to stare at the stars at night.
