A closer look at several of the features on the new 400 Sundancer can be found here or in the video below.

In terms of functional design, the boat is much more like a smaller version of our large Sundancers (610, 540, 510) than it is a larger version of our smaller Sundancers (350, 370, 410). As I mentioned in a previous post, this design does not necessarily signal a move away from more open Sundancers, but rather addresses a low-hassle, weather-protected design a significant group of customers have been asking for. There is the Fly version for folks who'd like more outdoor entertaining space, and still several more new products on the near term horizon. As always, thanks for your support and enthusiasm for Sea Ray.

When we first saw the first still shots of the boat a few weeks ago I commented to myself that it seemed short & chunky as opposed to the traditional sleek look of the Sundancer. However, seeing the boat move through the water I ask....How could you not like that boat? The retractable sun shade is super nice & the lowering swim platform with steps screams class to me. The interior also looks very impressive both in space & quality looking materials.

Thanks Matt for taking the time to share Sea Ray with us. In my opinion, the involvement here on this site by Sea Ray employees goes a long way in fostering, as you put it, "the support & enthusiasm for Sea Ray".

We're debating that now. Will likely decide after winter boat shoes and we gauge demand.

Sounds good.
If they are priced about the same, I think the layout of the 400 is far superior. The thing I never liked about the 410 is the aft area and the narrow second head.

Excellent. I think you have a winner. I like the helm and cabin interior, and swim step. Nice lines outside.

Larger Slips access can be hard to find in so cal. The 40 ft length will work well here. What is the beam?

Very, very nice! Great lines outside and love the interior. Think you have a winner! I assume you can carry a dinghy on the SP too.

Very, very nice. But my heart still goes a little faster when i see my old 450 sitting in her slip ageing
gracefully. Great boat Sea Ray corp you have outdone yourself! JC

I don't like it. I like the more open sun dancers better. But that's just me.

I'm with you. My wife and I were at a boat show just yesterday and they had a 2006 48 docked next to a 2010 470 docked directly next to a 2014 470. We both agreed that even if the boats were all priced identically, we would buy the 48 first, the 2010 470 next, and we wouldn't even want the 2014 470. It felt so small and confining and chopped up compared to the older open models. The outdoor cockpit of the new 470 felt smaller than our friend's 1988 300 Dancer. The new 400 looks like a smaller version of the 470; I can't even imagine how small that aft seating area has to feel.

LOA = 40' (43' 6" with optional hydraulic platform)
Beam = 13' 6"
Available with gas/diesel sterndrives with Axius or gas/diesel V-Drives

+1 on the helm station. Styling is definitely on queue with leading trends. One concern is stern in while single handing. That must be a challenge with limited view.

I hope there is a safety feature that won't allow the boat to start with the platform deployed. That could cause a lot of wallet pain fast.
