New boat bling

And I got all giddy and excited when my wife's nephew said he would come over and change out the starter. Hell a set of props like that would give me a heart attack. My wife almost divorced me when I hung a 8' tall prop blade on the wall. But this was from an old P2V-5 air tanker. It was okish when I told her if they can be found, they are $28k each. She keeps looking forward to my death to afford that trip to a white sand beach after selling all these old cameras and aircraft parts.;)

Well we had a good test run this holiday weekend. So far results appear to have increased cruise speed from 22 knts to 26.5, WOT from 24 knts to 28.5. RPM range is just about right but I have a little more verification to make sure with the laser tach gauge (hard to do while under way). Looks like WOT is about 2680-2700 RPM, shooting for 2650. If further results show the same I'll probably send them in this winter to add another .25 pitch or so to make them spot on. Need to play with the trim a little since the change but so far I'm quite happy with the results. Seems to be much smoother and 0 prop slip (had prop slip occur every once in a while previously). Started the weekend with 3/4 full of fuel and 1/2 water and only 2 people so I want to do further tests fully loaded with fuel, water and the usually summer gear that hasn't been put on the boat yet.

Looks like those should be on the wall as well, very nice! Have you got them installed yet?
Nope, just got them. My boat is running well now. Just bought the new one for backup.
Our home marina in very shallow and I did not want to be down for a month waiting on props in case of a strike.
