Hello, Just got a new to me and in nice shape 2000 270 Sundancer. Anyone know how to fill up the water tank? When will I know its full and can it be overfilled? Should I then leave the hot water tank on always or just when I'm using the boat? Never done any of this. Last boat was a 27' sportcraft with a maxwell house container for a head.

Thanks,
Kevin

P.S. Just seen I posted this in wrong area but cant move it.

You should have a deck plate labeled "water". Or anything other than "waste" or "gas" I suppose. ha. Stick a garden hose in and let her fill.

No harm in letting it fill until it comes out the deck plate or vent. Or just wait for the gurgle. You should also have a gauge in the boat that tells you the level? You may need to hit a momentary rocker to get it to light up.

I turn my water heater on when I arrive at the boat for the weekend, turn it off when I leave on Sunday.

And welcome!

When you say -know how- ??? Did you find a deck plate/fill hole marked"water", that has a cap on it? If so remove cap and fill from garden hose( drinking water safe hose) . Hot water heater should only be on while staying on boat, it warms up pretty fast when you turn it on. Tank can be filled till it runs over than drained out thru a faucet.

And I thank you both for the quick replies! Sounds easy enough lets see if I don't screw this up tomorrow :)

I feel like I did around cars before I knew how to work on them!
